This is a risk management approach aimed at thinking, acting and learning about and from risk, taking in supporting a person with disability to reach their life goals. It uses person centred thinking tools in a process that starts with listening to and understanding the person with a disability.
Service users and their family/carers are actively involved in the risk assessment and it all starts from a positive view of the person. Creative solutions are developed to find ways to keep the person safe while still taking the risk. There is a strong emphasis on continous learning.
